7.30am was my departure time for the trip half way across the country for a 10k race!  I didnt see any point putting myself through the misery of another half that i’m not fit enough for, so off I went, alone!  I didn’t even get lost and I was first in the car park!
I met up with Wendy Urban and Revis so I knew I’d have company and someone to chase!  It’s a great course, a bit undulating but no huge hills – you just know you’re running most of the way round.  The weather was pretty near perfect with a few clouds and a little drizzle.
I forgot my ‘smart’ gel so just had to run on Cheerios but moved along quickly from 6th to 3rd but had to run my butt off to catch Wendy and hold off the chasing 4th lady who was pushing me from about 3 miles!  After last week’s performance I was dead chuffed to be back in under 40mins.  I haven’t run that hard or fast for ages but I thoroughly enjoyed it and maybe one year it would be nice to get a Carn ladies team up there, fab showers and loos as the venue is a Campsite so has excellent facilities and loads of yummie home made cakes after!
