Cardiff Half, Redruth XC, Mendip Muddle previews...
Cardiff Half Marathon
Barrie did the full marathon last year and that was obviously more than the organisers could take!!  This year the full 26.2 has bitten the dust along with the finish in the Millennium Stadium and the only option is the Half Marathon.
We’ve a fair few runners going up and across the Severn Bridge for the race.
Pete Hillman has been training like a demon and recent cross-country performances have shown the lad to be near to top form.  With a PB of 1:16 it remains to see if it all comes good on the day and he can lower this even more.
Juliet’s PB is 1:26 and with a 39:07 timing at Newquay last Sunday, a possible PB for her as well.
All the Drew clan, Steve and Wendy Marks, Mike K and Alison are also running.
Although the course is flat, fast times could be affected by any decent wind (No Indian on Saturday night, then) as parts of the route can be exposed.
A good nights sleep on Friday is in order as Barrie reports that the city centre resembles a battle ground on a Saturday night and the Travel Inn have warned it could get pretty noisy! (Dirty Sanchez nailing their gonads to the front door, perhaps).  Take your earmuffs, guys.  Good Luck All.

Redruth Cross Country
It’s that time of year again.  Dark nights and the fields of Redruth School signal the start of the winter and another cross-country season.  We should have a men’s team out with Glyn, Hodgey, George, Steve, Bolty, Chris, and Barrie already confirmed.  Donna, Paula, Janet and Helen T should be out for the girls.
Five and a bit laps for the men and three and a bit for the ladies.

The ladies start is earlier this year as they got a good soaking last year and many a hairdo was ruined (only joking, girls!).  This year the girls start at 1300.
The men’s race gets under way at 1400 as it gives us another hour to recover from Saturday night watching England win the Rugby (no being sick on the start line please, finish line only)!

Mendip Muddle.  Dave Scott was mentioning about doing this race whilst chatting over a coffee after the Bristol Half.  Hopefully you are still up for it, Dave.  A few of us have done this over the years and you are in for a great run.  All off road and as the name suggests, over the Mendips.  There's some long climbs to contend with but well worth the effort.  The distance is 20K which is just over 12 miles in old money.  Great race HQ, a little hall in the middle of nowhere but great atmosphere and plenty of good food afterwards.

Of course all the results, reports, photos etc will be on the site as soon as we get them…
