The Westward League got off to an unusually warm and dry start at Redruth School this afternoon.
The Senior Ladies were under way at 1300. Denise, after a 35 mile morning cycle ride, found herself drafted in at the last minute to join Donna and Janet to make up our team of three. They ripped around their 3 lap, 5000m course as the lads turned up ready for their 1400 start.
With our girls all having great races, it was time for them to put their feet up and watch the men.

A great turn out of 8 Carn men lined up for the start and the gun sounded to send us on our way. Any lingering shabby feelings from the Rugby celebrations the night before were blasted away on the first climb as the field powered away on the first of the 5 laps.
Hodgey, Glyn and Steve were having a good race with each other with the lead swapping a few times. Eventually, Glyn got away and was our first runner home closely followed by Steve. Hodgey faded a bit and was none too happy with his performance! George and Tommy were next with Barrie finishing strongly to just pip Phil ‘Bolty’ by one place. Chris rounded off the first Cross Country outing for Carn Runners this winter, a few places behind.
Finish Positions:
Ladies:
Donna 6th, Janet 25th, Denise 40th.

Glyn 30th, Steve 31st, Hodgey 37th, George 68th, Tommy 70th, Barrie 73rd, Phil 74th, Chris 81st.
