It wasn’t a record Carnie turn out for this years Mob Match but we still managed to put out a good few runners.
Although we were missing a few runners through injuries etc, the numbers we kept up by those who could pull the vest on and manage to get round 5 miles despite not being fully fit.

The start was moved up the road from the usual location and the first half a mile was different from previous years. Well, except for the fact that it was still uphill!
Saturday morning had started at around zero degrees and must have had most people digging out their Willy-Warmers/Beaver Blankets. Come Sunday morning and the temperature was up by a good 10 degrees! How does that work?
Anyway, Barrie was off to get our race numbers nice and early so all we had to do was line up and get ready to suffer.
Dougy Alsop spun a few dits at the start and then we were on our way. After the initial climb, the heart rates were up and blood was trying to seep out of every orifice! A loop round Swanpool and soon we were back passing the car park and getting cheered on our way (Ian R sporting very dapper headwear).

Barrie and George - if looks could kill!
Apologies from those of us who failed to show our gratitude, we were delirious by this point. In fact I was foaming at the mouth so intensely that to shout anything back would have had drowning consequences for anyone I passed!

A nice loop of Pendennis Point and we were heading for home.
Our crowd of supporters were still cheering away as we all charged past with the finish in our sights.
Excellent runs from all those Carnies as they crossed the line one by one.
Juliet, Kensa, Janet and Karen were the scorers for our ladies team and were 2nd Ladies team on the day with CAC taking the honours.
Then it was over to the Falmouth Beach Resort Hotel for the GP Presentations (and top Bacon Butties – Kev). 30 Carnies completed the series this year and received their awards.
Another GP Series done and another year gone.
Time to get some training done before it all kicks off again at Blaythorne on 20th January 2008.
Photographs For the first time since the Mounts Bay 10K back in February there will be an ‘Alternative’ X –Rated set of photographs for your entertainment. Be Warned – They ain’t pretty!!!! Included in these is non-Carnie, Viv Bray but he never fails to deliver when it comes to hardcore XXX shots so we couldn’t leave him out!!!
