“Oh, What a night…” The Carn Runner’s Dance Machine took the dance floor at the Angel Hotel by storm. From the moment the band struck their first chord through to midnight there was no let-up!
The pace was frantic with everyone getting in on the act and displaying some sensual moves. There were limbs flying everywhere. Pure ‘Carn’-age. One minute I was quietly strutting my stuff and the next I was wearing Les around my neck!
The buffet was something else! Stacking up pasties, curry and smoked salmon on the same plate must have been something to do with the Stella!! A great combination which would only be fully appreciated the following morning! Marsh-mellows dunked in the chocolate fountain rounded off the re-fuelling and it was straight back onto the packed dance floor. Those Carnies were ruling!
The Presentations enabled a brief pause for breath. The following awards were presented:
Runner's Runner Carol Culley
Outstanding Achievement Juliet Knowles
Endeavour Steve Wherry
Club Person of the Year Alison Galloway
Show the Vest Janet Ritchie
Coach’s Awards:
Male Glyn Davis
Female Paula Telford
Ceri Drew won the ‘Guess the Baby Photo’ competition with a 100% answer sheet. I must admit I had to step in and put right those people who had me down as Sandy Jamieson! Granted we’re both gorgeous, but other than that I’d like to think I had a bit more meat on me in vital locations!!
Then it was non-stop dancing until midnight.
As we boarded the coach, an ambulance close by led to concerns for Pete Hillman who was rumoured to be partaking in his race finish ritual of emptying the contents of his stomach in the gutter. Fears were soon allayed as the Club Coach appeared at the front of the bus with no evidence of any carrots down his shirt!
And so we bade farewell to our Helston compatriots and our bus was Camborne bound.
A massive THANK YOU to all those involved in organising such a fantastic night.
Merry Christmas!
