Denise ready for action as Dennis checks his watch.

17 runners were sent on their way down through the woods to the Coombe.  Things got interesting on the climb of Magor Hill.
First starter, Judy Jameson was caught by Barry who was now in the lead.
Dennis Burrell was chasing hard and had Barry in his sights.

Expectations on the finish line were growing as everyone peered down the long finish straight and up South Drive, waiting for the first runner to appear.
Who would it be?
A black figure appeared in the distance, flying down the hill.  No one could make out who it was. Kev May?  Daniel?  Emma?  They were all wearing black.
As the figure got nearer a cry went up.  “It’s Barry Drew!”
The second runner came into view and then more and more as runners battled it out down the last quarter mile.

Barry was never giving it up and was motoring up to the finish like his next breath would be his last!

He hung on in there to be crowned Champion for 2007.

Dennis came in second with Kev in 3rd place.

With everyone recovered it was back to the car park for Sherry and Mince Pies and the Presentation.

Congratulations to Barry and all those who turned up and ran.
