| One thing about Rory. He likes his hills. The memories of the 'Stagger' linger on but the New Year means the first good serving are available at the Braunton 10. The monsters at 3 and 5 miles are well worthy of a good tale or two after the event.
His total number of pints consumed the previous evening have yet to be divulged. However, going by his 'Stagger' exploits it was going to be 1 or 8!
The conditions on the day were ideal as the 203 runners departed from the North Devon athletics track and out into the countryside.
Those hills (and the beer?!) obviously did the damage and Rory came home in a time of 1:16:41 in 69th position. A great time for that course which is a good few minutes slower that Blaythorne thanks to those hills.
Donna HillmanJenkin-Smythe also ran as a Carn Runner which is slightly confusing as allegedly she's joined the 'Master Race'. Anyhow, a good run there as well (fast times don't come for free!!).
