| The 'Upper and Downer' bit of this race's title has faded away over the years, but it is a good description of the course. Don't let that put you off however as whilst the 5 mile time you ran at Cubert a few weeks earlier may be hard to beat, the Sticker 5 is far from a monster.
The first half mile is pretty flat to the village centre, then there's a stiff-ish climb up to and past the 1 mile mark. The road soon flattens out though and the next 2 miles are flat. A steep downhill is quite hard on the legs in as much as when you get to the flat again it seems like you are running through treacle!
The final mile and a half is a gradual uphill back to the football club and finish where compere 'Eyeball Paul B' will be in full rap mode announcing the runners as they collapse over the line.
A great Saturday night run and social.
