| Steve '7-down' Marks reports from the 'Project'... |
Sorry to have been so long with this report but dashing up and down motorways and train lines to watch your beloved club, not team, play football leaves one with little time for the niceties of keeping one's team mates informed of what they should or shouldn't be doing in terms of ploughing up the Cornish countryside.
However, I do beg any of you with a few hours to spare in October, to run the Eden Marathon and if you are a jibber then at least do the half.
We had a very enjoyable morning with Paul from St Austell as we ran the marathon half of the Eden marathon route, if that makes sense. 70% of it is off road and much of it is less than trail but it will be well worth it when the big day comes as it is such a spectacular route that I know you won't get a better one in Cornwall let alone the rest of Britain. The half marathon, the second half of the full, I can see some of you struggling now, is 70% road and less demanding so may well be worth the effort. I believe the goody bags will be well worth the entrance fee for the first year.
It is tough so you won't be able to run it mad fast so the pressure will be off straight away and you can relax your way around it and finish with the Biomes of the Eden Project as a backdrop for your finish line photo.
We have organised a mini bus to go up and I think there are 5 or 6 places left so if anyone is interested, give me an email and I will book you a seat. Not sure of the cost but it should be well less than a tenner and you'll probably get a glass of Glynnis's bubbly thrown in for that!
