| On Wednesday evening, the real Carn Runners Choir assembled in the Tuckingmill Hotel for a festive run around Camborne and the odd visit to one or two hostelries. Barrie, Denise, Denis, Janet, Lizzie, Carol C, Sandie, Wendy and Steve raided their wardrobes for Santa outfits and best singing voices and entertained the many revellers in Camborne. A surprising amount of pubs were visited considering the normal Wednesday run lasts about an hour.
Early highlights included Janet proving the Carn Has Got Talent by singing Fairytale of New York word perfect and an impromptu impersonation of both Harold and Albert Steptoe. Smokers outside the White Hart were treated to repetitive renditions of misnomer that was Silent Night. The real version of Mistletoe and Wine received mixed reviews but was received with gusto in the Clipper Bar.
Barrie managed to impersonate Lord Lucan and we drifted home proud to have represented the club in the happy stakes in Camborne. Not rubbing it in, I realise many of you treat your bodies as temples and believe that alcohol only abuses your constitution, but you did miss a Cracker of an evening and I believe there should be a Claus that obligates all club members to join the choir next year. Could someone teach Barrie another song other than Camborne Hill for next year though.
