| On Sunday, 23 Carnies will be taking to the lanes surrounding Marazion for the second round of the GP Series, the Mounts Bay 10K organised by Hayle Runners. 11 Ladies and 12 Gents, so its a pretty even mix although the age groups suggest a more mature field assembled.
With a closed entry, all 500 places went sometime ago and if you aren't running Sunday but turning up, I guess it will be as a spectator only. Rest assured your attendance will be well received by your fellow runners,. And don't forget, if you can, give every competitor a cheer, as we like to wish everyone good luck but you can save that special one for your Carnie team mates.
The weather is set to be dull and cloudy and not overly warm but if the wind is minimal they should be pretty good conditions for a cracking race. Its good to see the return to competitive running of Brydie, Rory and Mike Mack after surgery and injury and lets hope all their ailments are behind them and they make it to the finishing as healthy as they started.
And it may not be a winning team line up for the men, but I have high hopes that Mark, Paul, Peter, Rory, Barrie and Chris can get enough points to see the men rise above their last place from last season. And I know the ladies will try their very best to wrestle as many points as they can.
Wendy and I may well be bringing up the rear as we intend to run through the finish line and carry on to Mousehole and back, so don't shout at us if we resemble Forrest Gump.
If you are entered but won't be able to run, please contact me or turn up on the day as I'm sure someone will be waiting to take your place.
Good Luck to everyone and see you all early on Sunday morning.
