Every runner remembers their first ultra.
For Tonia, that unforgettable milestone came this weekend as she completed the iconic Race to the Stones 50K, earning her place in the ultra-running club.
Taking on your first ultra is a huge leap beyond marathon distance. It requires months of preparation, determination and the willingness to keep putting one foot in front of the other when both your body and mind are telling you to stop.
Tonia did exactly that.
Conquering 50 Kilometres
Race to the Stones is one of the UK’s best-known ultra-distance events, taking runners along ancient trails through the beautiful North Wessex Downs.
With rolling hills, breathtaking scenery and 50 kilometres to cover, it’s a challenge that tests endurance just as much as it rewards determination.
Crossing the finish line is a moment that every ultra runner remembers, and Tonia can now proudly say she’s completed one of the country’s most iconic 50K events.
Welcome to the Ultra Club
Completing your first ultra is something truly special.
It’s a distance that many runners dream about but never quite attempt. Reaching the finish line takes resilience, careful pacing and the confidence to keep moving forward, one mile at a time.
Tonia showed all of those qualities and more, making her ultra debut one to remember.
A huge congratulations and an official welcome to the Ultra Club! 🎉
“Never Again”… Until the Next One!
If you’ve ever spoken to an ultra runner after they’ve finished, you’ll probably hear the same words:
“Never again!”
Of course, anyone who’s spent time around ultra runners knows what usually happens next…
A few days of recovery, a bit of reminiscing, and before long they’re searching for the next adventure!
We have a feeling Tonia’s first ultra won’t be her last, and we can’t wait to see which challenge she signs up for next.
Congratulations, Tonia!
A massive well done to Tonia on completing the Race to the Stones 50K and becoming an ultra runner.
It’s an incredible achievement, one you’ll never forget and one that reflects all the hard work you’ve put into your training.
Congratulations on joining the Ultra Club… and we’ll be keeping an eye out for that next race entry! 👏💙💛
