On a serene weekend morning, Carn Runners’ members Dawn, Peter, and Donna embarked on a delightful 5-mile social run through the enchanting Pendarves Wood Nature Reserve, situated just south of Camborne.

Managed by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Pendarves Wood spans approximately 16 hectares of predominantly broadleaf woodland, interlaced with streams and featuring a picturesque lake. The reserve is renowned for its vibrant displays of bluebells in spring, offering a captivating backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts.

The trio’s route meandered through the lush, green trails, where the sounds of rustling leaves and birdsong provided a soothing soundtrack to their run. The well-trodden paths, though occasionally muddy, offered a gentle challenge, making the experience both invigorating and refreshing.

Pendarves Wood, with its rich biodiversity and tranquil ambiance, serves as an ideal location for runners seeking a peaceful escape into nature. The reserve’s diverse habitats support a variety of wildlife, including badgers, otters, and numerous bird species, enhancing the overall experience for visitors.

Well done to Dawn, Peter, and Donna for embracing the beauty of Cornwall’s natural landscapes and enjoying a rejuvenating run through one of its hidden gems.
