Carn Runners were once again out on the road representing the club with pride, as Dawn and Tony took on the ever-popular Bath Half Marathon. Known for its fast course, big crowds and electric atmosphere, it’s one of the UK’s standout half marathon events — and this year certainly didn’t disappoint.
With thousands of runners lining up on the start line, the buzz around the city was clear from the outset. The Bath Half is always a special one, with huge spectator support and a route that keeps the energy high from start to finish.
Dawn Smashes Her Target
Heading into the race, Dawn had a clear goal in mind — breaking 2 hours 15 minutes. It’s a time that requires strong pacing and the ability to keep pushing across the full 13.1 miles.
Dawn delivered exactly that.
Running a controlled and determined race, she crossed the finish line in a fantastic 2:13, comfortably achieving her target and putting in a performance to be really proud of. It’s always a great feeling when race day goes to plan, and this was a perfect example of preparation meeting execution.
Tony Just Misses a PB
Alongside Dawn, Tony also put in a superb performance, narrowly missing out on a new personal best by just 62 seconds.
Finishing in a brilliant 2:09, Tony showed great consistency and strength across the course. While just missing a PB can be frustrating, it’s still a fantastic time — and a clear sign that the form is there.
On another day, that PB will definitely come.
A Fantastic Day of Racing
The Bath Half Marathon is known for its lively atmosphere, with crowds lining much of the course and offering constant encouragement. That support can make a huge difference, especially in the later miles when the legs start to tire.
Both Dawn and Tony took full advantage of the conditions and the energy around them, putting together strong, well-paced runs and representing Carn Runners brilliantly.
Proud to Wear the Carn Colours
It’s always fantastic to see Carn Runners members taking part in big events like the Bath Half and flying the club colours beyond Cornwall.
Dawn and Tony both delivered excellent performances — one smashing a target and the other knocking on the door of a PB — and both showing the kind of determination and consistency that defines the club.
Huge congratulations to you both. Amazing running and a brilliant day all round 👏💙💛
