Not every memorable run comes with a race number.
This weekend, Carn Runners enjoyed another fantastic mix of relaxed miles, great company and beautiful Cornish scenery as members came together for both our Friday evening run and Sunday Social.
Whether weaving through shady woodland or exploring a brand-new route, it was another reminder that some of the best runs are the ones shared with friends.
Friday Evening Escape from the Heat
Friday’s run may have only featured three runners, but what it lacked in numbers it more than made up for in scenery and good company.
With temperatures soaring, the group headed into the woods where the trees provided some welcome relief from the blazing summer sun.
The route also included a stretch along the stunning South West Coast Path, offering beautiful sea views before returning to the cooler woodland trails.
It was certainly a warm one, but another cracking Friday evening run to kick-start the weekend.
An Early Start for Sunday’s Social
Sunday’s Social began a little earlier than usual—and it turned out to be a very sensible decision.
Starting before the hottest part of the day meant the group could enjoy cooler conditions while taking on a fantastic new route created by Elaine.
Covering around 8–9 miles, the route was packed with great scenery, plenty of conversation and, as always, a supportive atmosphere from start to finish.
The only slight disappointment?
The pub was still shut when everyone finished! 🍻
Maybe next time…
More Than Just the Miles
Our social runs continue to be one of the best parts of club life.
There’s no pressure to race the clock—just the opportunity to enjoy running with friends, discover new routes and spend time outdoors.
Whether it’s three runners on a Friday evening or a larger Sunday morning group, every run helps strengthen the friendships that make Carn Runners such a welcoming club.
Thank You, Elaine!
A special thank you goes to Elaine for planning Sunday’s new route.
It’s always great to explore somewhere different, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed another brilliant morning on the trails.
Here’s to the Next One
A huge thank you to everyone who joined either of this weekend’s social runs.
From shady woodland and coastal paths to brand-new trails and plenty of laughs along the way, it was another brilliant weekend in the Carn colours.
We can’t wait to do it all again next weekend! 💙💛
