It was a special race day for Carn Runners as Mike and Emma headed to Gloucestershire to take on the Gloucester Half Marathon — and for Emma, it marked a particularly memorable milestone.
Making her debut over the 13.1 mile distance in Carn colours, this was Emma’s very first half marathon wearing a Carn Runners vest — a moment every runner remembers.
A First Half to Remember
Taking on your first half marathon is a big step. It’s a distance that requires commitment, preparation and a willingness to push beyond your comfort zone.
Emma rose to the challenge brilliantly.
From the start line through to the finish, she showed determination and focus, taking on each mile with confidence. Crossing that finish line for the first time over 13.1 miles is always a huge achievement, and one that deserves to be celebrated.
A massive milestone ticked off — and the first of many, no doubt.
Strong Running from Mike
Alongside Emma, Mike also took on the Gloucester Half Marathon, putting in a solid performance and helping make it a great day out for Carn Runners.
Running a half marathon is never easy, and sharing the experience makes it all the more enjoyable. Having familiar faces on the start line and support along the way always adds something extra to race day.
Flying the Carn Colours
It’s always fantastic to see Carn Runners members travelling to races beyond Cornwall and representing the club across the country.
From local events to races further afield like Gloucester, the Carn colours continue to appear in all corners — a great reflection of the club’s growing presence and enthusiasm.
Welcome to the Half Marathon Club
The biggest congratulations of the day go to Emma for completing her first half marathon in a Carn vest — a brilliant achievement and a moment to be proud of.
Welcome to the “half marathon club”, Emma 👏💙💛
And well done to both Emma and Mike for a fantastic day of running and for flying the Carn colours with pride.
