Indian Queens Half Marathon – PBs, Podiums and Drizzle-Soaked Determination
Carn Runners turned out in force for this year’s Indian Queens Half Marathon, and the results spoke for themselves. Despite a grey and drizzly start to the day, it proved to be ideal running weather—and Carnies wasted no time taking full advantage.
With personal bests, age group awards, and a whole lot of spirit on display, this race was another brilliant example of how our runners continue to improve, support one another, and make their presence known on the Cornish racing scene.
Tori’s Phenomenal PB
First up, a huge shout-out to Tori, who smashed her previous course time by over 16 minutes, clocking a superb 1:48:18. Her last run at Indian Queens was back in 2019, finishing in 2:04:44—so this was not just a course PB, but a massive personal record overall.
To top it off, Tori also placed 5th in her highly competitive age group—a huge achievement and testament to how far she’s come.
“2019: 2:04:44 – 2025: 1:48:18 and a new PR 😃”
– Tori
James Hits 1:40:00 and Reflects with Pride
James also had a storming run, coming in with a chip time of 1:40:54—a fantastic new PB, even if the final two miles felt like a battle.
“Absolutely incredible support today… a huge PB but a learning moment too, as I was a mess for the final 2 miles 😅.
Loved it and incredibly proud of myself 😎
Thank you Carn Runners for the progress I’ve made and the support you’ve given me.”
– James
We love the honesty, James—and that 1:40 mark is a serious milestone. You’ve earned every second of it.
Age Group Podium Round-Up
The individual highlights didn’t stop with PBs—three of our runners brought home age group prizes:
🏅 Janet Watson – 3rd in her age group
🏅 Glynn – 3rd in his age group
🥇 Tommy – 1st in his age group
A massive well done to each of you. Indian Queens is known for its rolling course and tough final stretch, so placing in your category is a real mark of strength and smart pacing.
A Race to Remember
With over 13 miles of quiet roads, rolling hills, and wonderful local support, the Indian Queens Half is a summer classic. The light rain kept things cool, the support along the route was uplifting, and the post-race atmosphere was full of smiles, hugs, and very tired legs.
These kinds of events showcase everything we love about club running—improvement, encouragement, shared effort, and genuine celebration at the finish line.
Congratulations to everyone who took part—PB or not, you’ve done yourselves and Carn Runners proud.
If you’ve got race photos or want to share your story, drop us a message. We love to highlight the amazing efforts happening every week in this club!
