While many races see a sea of blue and yellow vests, sometimes you’re the only one representing your club—and that takes a special kind of determination.
That was the case for Janet, who was the sole Carn Runners representative at the Totnes Ladies 10K, proudly flying the club colours in Devon.
The event is a popular fixture on the running calendar, bringing together women of all abilities for a friendly yet competitive race through the beautiful South Devon countryside.
Flying the Flag Solo
Turning up to a race on your own can feel very different from arriving with a group of clubmates.
There’s no familiar faces on the start line, no teammates to warm up with and no one to share those pre-race nerves. Instead, it’s just you, your training and the challenge ahead.
Janet embraced the occasion, proudly representing Carn Runners from start to finish and showing exactly what club spirit is all about.
Another Fantastic Performance
The Totnes Ladies 10K is well known for its welcoming atmosphere and scenic surroundings, making it a favourite among runners from across the South West.
With plenty of support around the course and a great community feel, it’s the perfect event to test yourself while enjoying a fantastic day of running.
Janet put in another strong performance, tackling the course with determination and adding yet another race to an already impressive year of events.
Representing Carn Runners Wherever We Go
One of the great things about Carn Runners is seeing our members racing all over Cornwall and beyond.
Whether there are two runners, twenty runners or just one, it’s always fantastic to see the Carn colours on the start line.
Janet did the club proud, representing Carn Runners brilliantly and reminding us that you never really race alone when you’re wearing your club vest.
