Carn Runners at the First-Ever St Agnes 5 Miler
It’s always exciting to see a new race appear on the Cornish running calendar, and this weekend delivered just that—the inaugural St Agnes 5 Miler. A group of Carn Runners headed over to support the event, and it proved to be a fantastic day out for all.
A Strong Start for a New Race
The route showcased the very best of St Agnes and the surrounding countryside, with a blend of lanes, trails, and coastal charm. At five miles, the distance struck a perfect balance—challenging enough to test the legs, but short enough to encourage runners of all abilities to give it a go.
As a first-time event, everything ran smoothly, with friendly marshals, a welcoming atmosphere, and a great buzz at the finish line. It’s safe to say the St Agnes 5 Miler looks set to become a regular favourite.
Team Spirit on Show
Carn Runners were there in numbers, proudly flying the club colours and showing once again that racing is about more than just times. From the faster finishers to those treating it as a steady Sunday run, the smiles at the finish told the real story—everyone had a great time.
Of course, no team photo would be complete without a bit of comedy. While most of the group gathered for the all-important post-race shot, Mike managed to miss it—reminding us that every good race day comes with a story to laugh about afterwards!
One for the Future
The feedback from our members was overwhelmingly positive. Scenic route, great organisation, and the buzz of being part of a race’s very first edition—this was one to remember. We’ll definitely be back to support the St Agnes 5 Miler in years to come.
Well done to everyone who ran, and thank you to the organisers for putting on such a brilliant inaugural event.
