It was a fantastic evening for Carn Runners at the Summer Turkey Trot, hosted by Cornwall AC and the legendary Tricky Dickies.
With an incredible 42 Carn Runners on the start line, it was one of the club’s biggest race turnouts of the year. Add in the members volunteering and those cheering everyone home, and the Carn colours were everywhere you looked.
The atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish, making it a memorable evening for the club.
A Sea of Carn Colours
Standing at the finish line, one thing became immediately obvious—there was a constant stream of neon yellow and blue vests crossing the line.
It was fantastic to see so many members taking part, with runners of all abilities enjoying the event.
One of the highlights of the evening was seeing several members taking part in their very first race. Crossing that first finish line is a milestone every runner remembers, and it was wonderful to see so many new faces embracing the challenge with huge smiles and plenty of determination.
Podium Success
As well as the fantastic turnout, there was plenty of success to celebrate.

🏆 Andy – 3rd in his age category
Three podium finishes were the icing on the cake after another superb evening of racing.
Strong Team Performances
It wasn’t just individual performances that stood out.
Thanks to the outstanding club turnout, Carn Runners fielded:
- 👟 Three women’s scoring teams
- 👟 Three men’s scoring teams
Seeing so many members contributing to the team competition highlights the strength, depth and continued growth of the club.
Every runner who crossed the finish line helped make those team results possible.
More Than Just a Race
Events like the Summer Turkey Trot perfectly capture what Carn Runners is all about.
Yes, there were podium places and fast times, but there was also encouragement, support, laughter and plenty of cheering from fellow members.
Whether racing for the first time, chasing a personal best or simply enjoying another evening with club mates, everyone played their part in making it a fantastic occasion.
