A Camborne race with Carn history
The Trevithick 12K is a relatively new name for a race with deep roots in our club. We first held the event in 1998 as the Blaythorne 10, a ten-mile January race that attracted around 80 runners in its first year. It later became the Storm Force 10 and kept its place at the start of Cornwall’s Grand Prix road-racing season.
In 2026, we introduced the Trevithick 12K. The change brought a new distance, but the race is still a chance for runners from across Cornwall to come together in Camborne. For us at Carn, organising it is one of the highlights of the year. If you remember the Storm Force 10, take note that this is now a 12K race, not a ten-miler. You can read more about that journey in our club history and find further information on our Trevithick 12K race page.
Your race, whether or not you follow the Grand Prix
Trevithick opens the Cornish Grand Prix road-racing season, and we’re looking forward to welcoming runners who have the wider series in mind. But you’re just as welcome to enter because you want a January goal or a race close to home. Twelve kilometres gives you something different from a 10K, with an undulating course that makes the distance its own challenge.
If you’d like to learn about racing beyond Trevithick, our Cornwall Grand Prix page explains the series.
We’re proud to bring this race back to Camborne and to give runners another warm Carn welcome. If you’re ready to join us, enter the Trevithick 12K 2027 here. We’ll see you in January.
Fancy some company on the roads before race day? Our Wednesday club nights normally meet at Camborne Cricket Club at 6:30pm; check the Run Schedule for upcoming sessions and any different arrangements. New to Carn? Our Membership Application page explains the four free trial nights. For questions, get in touch or email hello@carnrunners.co.uk.
