Nine Carn Runners lined up for the Truro Half Marathon on Sunday 13 September, giving the club another excellent turnout at a major Cornish road race.
Perfect weather conditions greeted the runners for their 13.1-mile challenge, providing a welcome opportunity to concentrate on the racing rather than battling the elements. The Carnies made the most of the day, with some great times achieved across the team.
A testing half marathon through Truro
Starting from Lemon Quay, the official Truro Half Marathon route begins with a loop through central Truro before heading towards Porth Kea, Playing Place and Cowlands.
The course is almost entirely on road, but it is far from flat. Its hills provide a proper test over the half marathon distance, making every strong finish particularly well earned.
This year’s race was also the 13th fixture in the 2026 Cornwall Grand Prix series. It followed the previous weekend’s Treggy 7, where another strong Carn Runners team had tackled a challenging Cornish course.
Plenty of Carnie support
The runners were not the only Carnies involved in the day. Pete, Margaret, Sandy, Bex and Abs were there to provide welcome support, while Mark was busy behind the camera capturing the occasion.
Seeing familiar faces on race day can make a real difference, particularly during the more demanding stages of a half marathon. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the team.

A nine-strong turnout is another encouraging showing for Carn Runners, with plenty of yellow and blue represented at one of Cornwall’s established half marathons.
