It was another strong weekend of racing for Carn Runners as members headed to North Devon to take part in the Braunton events, with runners tackling both the 10K and 10-mile distances.
With coastal scenery, testing miles, and classic race-day conditions, Braunton provided a great backdrop β and Carn Runners were once again proudly represented in club colours ππ
Braunton 10K Efforts
Taking on the 10K were Joanne, Judy, Sarah, and Dennis.
It was a solid set of runs across the board, with everyone digging in and getting the job done on a course that demanded effort and focus. Great to see Carn Runners well represented and supporting each other throughout β exactly what club racing is all about.
Dennis once again showed that age is no barrier to getting out there and racing hardβ¦ even if the results table didnβt quite tell the full story this time.
10 Miles and an Age Group Win π
Over the longer 10-mile distance, Janet R and Janet W took on the challenge.
A special mention goes to Janet W, who finished 1st in her age group β a fantastic result and a brilliant reward for a strong and determined run π
Justice for Dennis π
We do need to address the small matter of age categoriesβ¦
With no over-80s age group, Dennis narrowly missed out on what would almost certainly have been another podium moment. We can confirm that this has not gone unnoticed β a complaint has been lodged π and weβll be keeping a close eye on future race age-group structures!
Another Great Club Showing
From the 10K runners to the 10-milers, Braunton was another example of Carn Runners doing what we do best β turning up, racing hard, and enjoying it together.
Well done to Joanne, Judy, Sarah, Dennis, Janet R, and Janet W on a great set of performances and another proud weekend for the club ππ
