Most people would probably spend the day after a race recovering…

Not Jan.

After already taking on the unique challenge of the Scillonian Sprint, involving a trip to St Mary’s and a tough island run, Jan was back at it again the very next day — this time tackling the famously hilly St Ives Brewery Bike Sportive.

No Rest Day Here

The Scillonian Sprint alone is enough to leave most runners needing a recovery day. Between the ferry journey, the race around St Mary’s and the rough crossing back, it’s a full day of effort and adventure.

But instead of resting up, Jan swapped running shoes for the bike and headed straight into another challenge.

Taking on the Hills of St Ives

The St Ives Brewery Bike Sportive is well known for its tough climbs and rolling Cornish roads. It’s the kind of event that keeps the legs working constantly and demands plenty of endurance, especially after already racing the day before.

Even with tired legs from the Scillonian Sprint still lingering, Jan powered through the sportive and added yet another impressive endurance effort to the weekend.

Endurance on Another Level

Back-to-back endurance events are never easy, especially when both involve hills and long efforts. It takes serious determination — and maybe just a little bit of stubbornness — to line up again the next day.

But that’s exactly what Jan did.

From running around St Mary’s to cycling the hills around St Ives, it was a weekend packed full of miles, effort and adventure.

A Huge Weekend of Effort

It’s always brilliant to see Carn Runners members taking on challenges across different disciplines and pushing themselves outside the usual routine.

Jan’s weekend was a perfect example of that — one challenge straight into another, all tackled with determination and a smile.

A massive well done on an incredible weekend of endurance 👏💙💛
