Carn Runners were back in action at the Sportiva Plymouth Festival Weekend, enjoying a fantastic mix of competition, great weather and a weekend packed with outdoor adventure.
Representing the club were Jan Watson and Sarah, who both took on different events across the festival and proudly flew the Carn colours.
Jan Claims an Age Group Prize
Jan lined up for the challenging Rame Head 10K, a scenic route that combines beautiful coastal views with some testing climbs.
Putting in another excellent performance, Jan crossed the finish line to claim 1st place in her age category.
And instead of the traditional trophy, the prize came with a slightly different reward…

Another fantastic result and yet another age category success for Jan, who continues to impress wherever she races.
Sarah Takes to the Water
While Jan was out on the run course, Sarah was flying the Carn flag in the festival’s swim event.
The Sportiva Plymouth Festival offers something for everyone, bringing together a variety of endurance events across the weekend. Sarah embraced the challenge, putting in a great performance and representing the club brilliantly.
It’s always fantastic to see Carn Runners taking on different disciplines and stepping outside the traditional road race calendar.
A Weekend to Remember
With lovely weather, excellent organisation and the added bonus of camping for the weekend, the Sportiva Plymouth Festival proved to be much more than just a race.
It was a chance to enjoy great events, spend time outdoors and share another memorable weekend with fellow competitors.
These are the kinds of weekends that remind us running is about far more than finish times — it’s about experiences, friendships and making the most of every opportunity to get active.
