Carn Runners Weekly Round-Up – From Coastal Dunes to Cruise Decks and Drizzly Lanes
Carn Runners have been out and about again this week, proving once more that you can fit in a run just about anywhere. Whether it’s our regular Friday dunes session, laps around a cruise ship, or a gentle drizzle-dodging five-miler, there’s always something happening in our running community.
A Familiar Friday Favourite – Dunes with Gavin
With Dennis away this week, Gavin stepped in to lead our regular Friday run across the dunes. A solid turnout from the group meant a relaxed session with plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the soft trails and coastal air.
Thanks to Gavin for keeping things rolling smoothly in Dennis’s absence. These regular Friday meet-ups are a great way to end the week—steady pace, scenic surroundings, and a good catch-up with fellow Carnies.
Claire Takes to the High Seas
Meanwhile, Claire clocked up her weekly run somewhere slightly more unusual—on board the Azura cruise ship, no less. With 30 minutes of laps across decks 15 and 16, she kept the legs ticking over while enjoying sea views and holiday vibes.
It’s always inspiring to see members finding ways to stay active while away. Whether it’s trail, treadmill, or cruise ship corridor—miles are miles!
Drizzle, Laughter & a Snail – Sarah & Charmaine’s Five
Closer to home, Sarah and Charmaine set off for a gentle 5-mile loop, undeterred by the light Cornish drizzle. As seasoned runners know, a bit of rain rarely ruins a run—in fact, it can make it all the more refreshing.
Along the way, they even made a new friend… a determined snail on its own little mission. Proof that not all of us are chasing PBs!
Sunday Miles on the Newham Trail
To round off the week, a group of Carnies enjoyed a gentle 5-mile run along the Newham Trail in Truro. It was the perfect way to wind down the weekend—quiet paths, soft underfoot, and plenty of friendly conversation along the route.
A special mention goes to the Boscawen Gardens, which were looking absolutely spectacular in the morning light. Flower beds in full colour and peaceful surroundings made it a joy to run through—a reminder that sometimes the most familiar routes can offer the biggest smiles.
Whether you were running in the dunes, on deck, or in the rain, it’s been great to see Carn Runners staying active in different ways this week. These everyday efforts and shared moments are what make the club special.
Don’t forget to keep sharing your runs and photos—on Strava, WhatsApp or Facebook—so we can keep celebrating the small wins, scenic routes and surprise encounters that come with being part of Carn Runners.
