Carn Runners were out on the trails again as Elena and Janet flew the Carn flag at the Copper Coast Trail, running from Portreath to Devoran.
This event has previously been known as an 11-mile race, but this year brought an extra challenge, with a couple of additional miles added to turn it into a full half marathon.
A Beautiful Point-to-Point Trail Run
The route from Portreath to Devoran is a fantastic stretch for runners, offering a mix of trail, countryside and classic Cornish scenery.
With perfect running weather and good trail conditions, it made for a lovely day out — although the added distance meant there was still plenty of work to do.
Trail races always bring something different. The changing surfaces, steady effort and point-to-point nature of the route make it feel like a proper adventure rather than just another race.
Strong Running from Elena and Janet
Both Elena and Janet took on the challenge brilliantly, representing Carn Runners across the newly extended half marathon route.
Adding extra miles to a familiar event can change the feel of the race completely, but both runners handled it well and enjoyed the day.
A Great Day for the Carn Colours
It’s always brilliant to see Carn Runners taking part in local trail events, especially ones that show off some of Cornwall’s best routes.
A huge well done to Elena and Janet for completing the Copper Coast Trail Half Marathon and flying the Carn colours from Portreath to Devoran 👏💙💛
