A huge well done to Elena, who completed the Eden Half-Marathon on Sunday 18 October 2026 in 1:46:54 — a new personal best over the distance. That is a brilliant result for our Carn Runners member, and one we’re delighted to celebrate.
The Eden race is no ordinary half marathon on uninterrupted roads. Its route takes runners through the countryside around the Eden Project, combining roads with trails and paths. Elena’s new benchmark came on a course that the organiser describes as both hilly and multi-terrain.
A PB on Eden’s mixed-terrain course
The Eden Project’s event page describes a challenging route through Cornwall’s Clay Country, with the half marathon running on roughly 60% public roads and 40% trails and paths. It is a different proposition from a road-only race: the surface changes, and the hills are part of the course rather than an occasional interruption.
That makes Elena’s sub-1:47 finish especially satisfying to report. A half-marathon PB is a faster personal mark across 13.1 miles; at Eden, those miles also come with the variety of terrain that gives this Cornish fixture its character. Her finishing time is precise to the second: one hour, 46 minutes and 54 seconds.
The 2026 race was held in partnership with St Austell Running Club. For anyone who wants to see more of the course, the organiser’s event page includes a route map and a link to the 2026 results. It is the best place to explore the event beyond this Carn Runners update.
Another half marathon to celebrate
Elena has been busy over the distance this autumn. In September, we celebrated her run at the Cheltenham Half Marathon. Eden brought her back to racing in Cornwall, this time on a course with a markedly different mix of roads and off-road sections.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy a half marathon: taking on a new setting, testing yourself against a familiar distance, or simply getting to the finish. A new PB gives Elena a particularly clear milestone to take away from this one. The clock stopped at 1:46:54, and that is now the time we’re celebrating from her Eden run.
We love sharing achievements like this because they belong to the runner, not just the results sheet. Finishing a half marathon is an achievement in its own right; coming away from Eden with a personal best makes it an even more memorable race-day result. Elena, congratulations from all of us at Carn Runners — fantastic running!
