Penrose Parkrun – Family Miles and Friendly Faces
This weekend, Margaret and Sandy represented Carn Runners at the ever-popular Penrose Parkrun, enjoying the scenic National Trust route along the Cornish coast.
Parkrun mornings are always special, but this one had an extra touch of warmth and connection thanks to both family support and a familiar club face waiting at the finish.
Family Running Together
Running is always better when shared, and both Margaret and Sandy had company on the course. Margaret’s grandson joined in, showing that Parkrun is truly for all ages, while Sandy’s daughter also took part, making it a family morning of fitness and fun.
Seeing multiple generations on the start line is what Parkrun is all about—healthy activity, shared experience, and memories made together.
A Familiar Face at the Finish
Adding to the sense of community, the pair were delighted to bump into Laura, one of our own Carn Runners, at the end. Catching up with a friendly face after the miles was the perfect way to wrap up a lovely Saturday morning outing.
Why Penrose Parkrun is a Favourite
The Penrose course is renowned for its beauty, taking runners through woodlands, along flat paths, and past glimpses of the stunning Cornish coast. With a supportive volunteer team and welcoming atmosphere, it’s no wonder it’s a favourite for locals and tourists alike.
Well done to Margaret and Sandy for representing the club so well—and to their families for joining in and sharing the joy. Great to see Laura too, reminding us once again how running always brings people together.
