A huge well done to Rosie for taking on the mud and madness at Kernow Killer! The obstacle-course event was held at Scorrier House Estate, near Redruth, on Sunday 25 October 2026 — a challenge close to home for Carn Runners.

This was no ordinary run around the estate. The event organiser describes Kernow Killer as a challenge built around mud, water, obstacles and teamwork: a very different sort of outing from settling into a rhythm on a road or trail route.

More than a run

There were several ways to take part on the Sunday. The organiser listed a 10km Kernow Killer course, a 5km Kernow Thriller and a 2.5km Kernow Kids course. Its description of the longer routes includes climbing, crawling and scrambling as well as covering the distance on foot. That mix is what makes an obstacle event its own kind of challenge: the course asks participants to deal with what is in front of them, not simply count down the kilometres.

The event’s emphasis on getting around together also sets it apart from a conventional race report focused on times and placings. Well done, Rosie!
