Shelagh Represents Carn Runners at the Great North Run
The Great North Run is one of the worldโs most iconic half marathons, and this year Shelagh proudly flew the flag for Carn Runners on the famous course from Newcastle to South Shields. With over 60,000 runners taking part, the atmosphere was electric โ and Shelagh rose to the challenge in style.
Under 3 Hours โ A Fantastic Achievement
Taking on 13.1 miles in warm conditions and surrounded by thousands of runners, Shelagh kept her focus and determination throughout. She crossed the finish line in under 3 hours, an achievement to be proud of at such a huge and testing event.
Powered by Support and Advice
Afterwards, Shelagh was quick to thank her Wednesday running group, whose encouragement, training advice, and shared miles all played a part in her journey to the Great North Run. Running may be an individual effort on race day, but the preparation is so often a team effort, and Shelaghโs result shows the power of club spirit.
A Day to Remember
For anyone whoโs taken part, the Great North Run is unforgettable โ the support from the crowds, the buzz of the Red Arrows flyover, and the sense of achievement crossing that finish line by the sea. For Shelagh, representing Carn Runners on such a stage made the experience even more special.
Congratulations to Shelagh on completing the Great North Run in under 3 hours. A fantastic achievement, and proof that with consistent training and the right support, big goals can be reached. Youโve done yourself and Carn Runners proud!
