Carn Runners at the St Ives Bay 10K – Podiums, Coastal Views, and Club Spirit
The St Ives Bay 10K was blessed with good conditions and strong Carn Runners representation this year, as four of our own took on the scenic and sandy challenge. With its unique mix of firm beach sections, rolling terrain, and stunning Cornish coastline, this race continues to be a summer favourite on the local running calendar.
Sally and Peter Take 1st in Their Age Groups
Leading the charge were Sally and Peter, who both delivered first-place finishes in their respective age groups.
Sally ran a smooth, confident race, continuing her string of standout performances this year with another age group win. Her strength across different terrains and distances shows just how dialled in her training has been.
Peter, equally composed, powered through the course with expert pacing and trademark grit. From the sand to the final push along the coastal path, he held his form and secured another age group victory to add to his growing list of achievements.
Steve and Ali Run Strong
Joining them on the start line were Steve and Ali, who both put in solid performances and represented the club with pride. With its varied surfaces and fast start, this isn’t a race you can take lightly—but Steve and Ali handled it with focus and plenty of club spirit.
Their efforts helped round off a great showing from Carn Runners, with all four athletes crossing the line smiling (and likely with sand in their socks!).
A Unique Cornish Challenge
The St Ives Bay 10K is more than just a 10K. It’s an experience—coastal views, tricky footing, and a vibrant race atmosphere that keeps runners coming back year after year. The sandy sections in particular test balance and rhythm, while the trail-like climbs offer chances to gain ground with strength and strategy.
That makes every finish here a little more rewarding—and makes the first-place age group results from Sally and Peter even more impressive.
Well done to Sally, Peter, Steve and Ali for a brilliant day of running on the coast. You’ve all done the club proud!
