Carn Runners Take On Swim Serpentine
It was an epic weekend in London for three members of the Carn Runners Swimming Division — Ali, Sarah, and Judy — who all took on the 2-mile Swim Serpentine and came away with memories, medals, and even a bit of dancing on the side!
A Weekend to Remember
The adventure began with something completely different: a trip to the ABBA Voyage show. The group described it as “totally blown away, amazing,” and it set the tone for a weekend that was as much about friendship and fun as it was about racing.
The following day it was time for the main event: the 2-mile open water swim in London’s Hyde Park. Swim Serpentine is one of the UK’s most iconic open water events, attracting swimmers from all over the country.
Braving the Serpentine
The Serpentine is famous as the venue for the 2012 Olympic triathlon swim, and its waters are always a test. But Sarah, Judy, and Ali all rose to the challenge, completing the distance with determination and smiles. The 2-mile distance is no small feat, and all three did brilliantly to finish strongly.
A Classics Medal for Ali
A special congratulations goes to Ali, who collected her massive London Classics medal. This incredible achievement is awarded to those who complete the London Marathon, RideLondon 100, and Swim Serpentine 2-mile. The medal itself is as impressive as the challenge, and Ali has truly earned it.
More Than Just Miles
As always with Carn Runners, it wasn’t just about the event itself. The trip to London was about making memories, enjoying time together, and celebrating achievements as a team. From singing along with ABBA to swimming through Hyde Park’s famous lake, it was a weekend that won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
Congratulations to Ali, Sarah, and Judy for completing Swim Serpentine — and a huge cheer for Ali’s Classics medal achievement. A weekend of friendship, fun, and endurance at its very best. 💛💙
