Tony’s PB at the Bumble Bee Challenge Marathon
This weekend saw Tony take on the Bumble Bee Challenge Marathon, an intimate event with just 75 runners across multiple distances. Despite the small field, it delivered big results — and Tony came away with a fantastic new PB and a top-five finish.
A Huge Personal Best
Tony completed the marathon in an official time of 4:41:32, placing him 4th overall. Even more impressively, this was nearly 21 minutes faster than his previous official personal best set at the Amsterdam Marathon last year. To cut that much time off over 26.2 miles is an incredible achievement and a testament to the progress he’s made in training.
Small Field, Big Effort
With only 75 runners across the morning, the Bumble Bee Challenge had a more low-key atmosphere than some of the big city races, but that didn’t make it any less of a challenge. Running in a small field requires focus and self-discipline, and Tony delivered exactly that, pacing himself brilliantly to secure both the PB and a strong overall finish.
The Value of Consistency
Tony’s run shows the power of consistent effort and steady progress. In less than a year, he has gone from his previous official PB in Amsterdam to taking over 20 minutes off that time. For marathon runners, that kind of improvement is huge — proof that hard work pays off.
A Top Result for Carn Runners
As always, it’s not just about times or placings — it’s about representing Carn Runners with pride. But with a PB, a 4th-place finish, and a big smile at the end, Tony ticked every box at the Bumble Bee Challenge.
Congratulations Tony on your brilliant new marathon PB at the Bumble Bee Challenge. A strong result, a huge improvement, and a fantastic example of dedication paying off. 💛💙
