Tywardreath Trotter 2025 – A Scenic Summer Race with Podium Perks
This weekend, Carn Runners made their mark at the ever-popular Tywardreath Trotter, a multi-terrain summer race that draws runners from across the region. Known for its lively village atmosphere and challenging mix of surfaces, this event is a firm favourite in the Cornish race calendar—and this year was no exception.
Flying the Carn Runners flag were Sally, Steve and Peter, each tackling the undulating 7-mile route with grit, smiles, and no shortage of determination.
A Race with Character
The Tywardreath Trotter isn’t your average road race. The course weaves through rural tracks, quiet lanes, and woodland paths, offering plenty of twists, turns and climbs to keep things interesting. With warm summer air and great support from local spectators, it’s an event that’s as much about the experience as it is the finish time.
All three Carnies took the course in stride, with strong efforts across the board and no shortage of post-race stories to swap.
Age Group Achievements
A special well done to Sally and Peter, who both earned age group podium finishes! Sally ran a well-paced and consistent race to bag 3rd place in her age category, while Peter’s strong performance saw him take a brilliant 2nd place finish in his. These are well-earned results and a great reward for consistent training and hard work.
Steve also put in a solid run on the day, adding another summer race to the books and showing once again what Carn Runners bring to every local event: commitment, club pride, and a friendly, determined presence on the start line.
Community, Competition & a Cracking Atmosphere
Beyond the results, the Tywardreath Trotter is a celebration of community running—something our club holds dear. It’s races like this that remind us why we love the local scene: the friendly faces, the encouragement on course, and the post-race banter that makes the effort worthwhile.
Congratulations to Sally, Steve, and Peter for representing Carn Runners so well, and hats off again to our age group stars!
If you took part in a recent race, parkrun or club run, don’t forget to share your photos and results—we’d love to include you in the next round-up!
