Carn Runners at the Warhorse 10K
This weekend, three Carn Runners travelled across the border into Devon to take on the Warhorse 10K, a race based in the village of Iddesleigh, on the edge of Dartmoor. Known for its scenic lanes, undulating roads, and welcoming community, the event is a highlight of the local calendar — and our runners did the club proud.
Zoe’s Personal Best
The day was made extra special with a superb run from Zoe, who achieved a new personal best over the 10K distance. Clocking a PB on a course with hills and undulations is no small achievement, and Zoe’s determination and training clearly paid off.
Strong Efforts from Dennis and Janet
Alongside Zoe, Dennis and Janet both produced strong, consistent runs. The pair handled the hilly sections well and showed the value of experience when it comes to pacing across a rolling rural route.
A Beautiful but Testing Route
The Warhorse 10K offers runners the chance to race through the quiet lanes around Iddesleigh, made famous by Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse. The undulating course gives plenty of variety — scenic countryside stretches balanced with climbs that keep you honest.
Flying the Club Colours
Once again, Carn Runners demonstrated what it means to represent the club — not just through results, but through encouragement, support, and the simple joy of being part of a well-loved race.
Congratulations to Zoe on her PB and to Dennis and Janet for their brilliant efforts at the Warhorse 10K. A fantastic showing from the team and another race that proves Carn Runners are always up for a challenge, wherever it may be. 💛💙
