The Webbs have been taking parkrun tourism to another level this year, travelling across the UK and beyond as they work their way through the brilliant parkrun Alphabet Challenge.

For anyone unfamiliar with it, the Alphabet Challenge is a popular parkrun goal where runners try to complete a parkrun beginning with each letter of the alphabet. It turns the usual Saturday morning 5K into a proper adventure — part running, part travel, part planning mission.

And the Webbs are now very close to completing it.

A Year of parkrun Adventures

Their 2026 parkrun journey has already taken them to a fantastic mix of locations, from local favourites to international events.

So far, their list includes:

  • 1st January — Delamere, Cheshire
  • 3rd January — Irchester, Northamptonshire
  • 31st January — Jubilee, Bedford
  • 21st February — Ashton Court, Bristol
  • 14th March — Quakers Walk, Wiltshire
  • 28th March — Widnes, Cheshire
  • 11th April — Kraków, Poland
  • 18th April — Zielony Jar, Poland
  • 2nd May — Rugby, Warwickshire
  • 16th May — Five Arches, Somerset
  • 23rd May — Bushy Park
  • 25th May — Oude Warande, Holland

That is a serious amount of travelling, planning and Saturday morning dedication.

From Local Runs to International parkruns

One of the best things about parkrun tourism is the variety. Every course has its own feel, whether it is a fast flat route, a hilly challenge, a woodland trail, a city park or something completely different.

For the Webbs, this year has included plenty of UK events, but also some brilliant overseas parkruns, including Kraków and Zielony Jar in Poland, plus Oude Warande in Holland.

It is fantastic to see the Carn colours popping up in different places and being part of the wider parkrun community.

Bushy Park: The Home of parkrun

A real highlight was their recent visit to Bushy Park, the original home of parkrun.

For many parkrun tourists, Bushy Park is a bucket-list event. It is where parkrun began, and taking part there feels like a special milestone for anyone who loves the Saturday morning 5K routine.

Adding Bushy Park to the list is a brilliant achievement and another memorable stop on the Webbs’ parkrun journey.

Just G and Y to Go

After their planned run at Victoria Park, Newbury, the Webbs will be down to just G and Y to complete the Alphabet Challenge.

That is an amazing position to be in, and it shows just how much effort has gone into the challenge already.

The Alphabet Challenge is not just about running 5K. It takes route planning, travel, early starts and plenty of commitment. It also creates a lot of memories along the way.

A Brilliant parkrun Adventure

It has been brilliant to follow the Webbs’ parkrun tourism this year. From Cornwall to Cheshire, Bristol to Poland, Bushy Park to Holland, they have fully embraced the spirit of the challenge.

Huge well done to the Webbs on an amazing parkrun adventure so far.

Just G and Y to go — nearly there 👏💙💛
