Weekend Social Runs – Kehelland and Helston Sunshine
This weekend saw not one, but two Carn Runners social outings, with groups heading out in different directions to make the most of the sunshine and the friendly atmosphere that defines our club.
Margaret’s Kehelland Crew – 5 Miles and Home Refreshments
Margaret gathered a small group for a 5-mile loop around Kehelland, taking in quiet country lanes and gentle stretches that made for an enjoyable, relaxed run.
Afterwards, the team headed back to Margaret’s house for refreshments—a lovely way to round off the morning with a chat and a bit of hospitality. Runs like this show that the social side of running is just as important as the miles themselves.
Helston Group – 7.5 Miles of Sunshine and a Café Stop
At the same time, another group of Carnies explored the lanes around Helston, clocking up 7.5 miles in glorious sunshine. The route offered rolling countryside views and quiet stretches of road, perfect for easy conversation and steady pacing.
The highlight came with a well-earned stop at The Crate café, where coffee and treats provided the perfect pick-me-up before heading home. Sunshine, great company, and good coffee—what more could you want from a Sunday run?
Two Routes, One Spirit
Although the groups were in different places, the spirit was the same: friendship, encouragement, and enjoying the miles together. Whether five or seven and a half, café or home refreshments, everyone shared that special Carn Runners sense of community.
Well done to everyone who joined this weekend’s socials—whether at Kehelland or Helston, you made it another memorable morning. Here’s to many more sunny Sundays ahead!
