Top Cornwall Races to Enter in 2026

Cornwall is home to some of the most scenic and challenging races in the UK. With rolling hills, dramatic coastlines, and friendly local clubs, each event brings its own character and sense of community. Whether you’re chasing a PB on the road or taking on an off-road adventure, there’s something here for everyone. Here’s a look at the top races to add to your 2026 calendar.

1. Trevithick 12k – Camborne (January)

The opener of the Cornish Grand Prix Series, the Trevithick 12k is organised by Carn Runners. It’s a tough 12k road race that always attracts a strong field of club runners from across the county. Expect chilly weather, rolling lanes, and plenty of support at the finish.

2. Falmouth Half Marathon – Falmouth (March)

A popular spring half that’s both scenic and testing. The course showcases Falmouth’s seafront before heading into the surrounding countryside. With club runners and charity participants side by side, it’s one of the friendliest half marathons around.

3. London Marathon – Cornwall Virtual Link (April)

Not technically in Cornwall, but many local runners use this as a target race, with groups training together along Cornwall’s roads and trails. Expect to see plenty of Cornish vests in London and in local virtual challenges tied to marathon season.

4. Cubert 5 – Cubert (June)

A short, sharp road race with a big reputation. The Cubert 5 is one of the fastest races in the Cornish calendar and part of the Grand Prix Series. A great summer evening event for testing speed and enjoying the buzz of hundreds of runners lining up together.

5. Magnificent 7 – Saltash (July)

Seven country miles with hills that live up to the name. This mid-summer classic is challenging but hugely rewarding, offering a real sense of achievement at the finish. A must-do for anyone building towards autumn half marathons.

6. Indian Queens Half Marathon – Indian Queens (August)

A highlight of the summer, this half is known for its superb organisation and excellent atmosphere. It regularly sells out, so early entry is advised. Flat in parts, but with enough undulation to keep things interesting.

7. Truro Half Marathon – Truro (September)

Set in Cornwall’s only city, this half marathon mixes city streets with countryside lanes. It’s another key race in the Grand Prix calendar and provides a great test for autumn marathon training.

8. Eden Marathon & Half Marathon – Eden Project, St Austell (October)

One of the most unique races in the country. Starting and finishing inside the Eden Project, the course takes in trails, hills, and stunning Cornish countryside. A true test of endurance and a favourite among trail enthusiasts.

9. Mob Match – Cornish Clubs (November)

A traditional event where Cornish clubs compete en masse, with points scored for participation as well as performance. A celebration of community spirit and the perfect way to end the season.
