On Sunday, 4th May 2025, Carn Runners’ Dan and Steve embarked on a formidable 32-mile training run, marking a significant milestone in their preparation for the upcoming Classic Quarter ultramarathon.

For Dan, this run was particularly noteworthy as it marked his first venture into ultramarathon distances. Completing 32 miles is no small feat, and doing so as part of a training regimen showcases immense dedication and resilience.

Steve, a seasoned runner, provided invaluable support throughout the journey. Their route encompassed diverse terrains, mirroring the challenging conditions they will face during the Classic Quarter.

The Classic Quarter, scheduled for 24th May 2025, is a renowned 44-mile ultramarathon along the South West Coast Path in Cornwall, stretching from Lizard Point to Land’s End. With over 5,500 feet of ascent and a mix of rock, mud, and trail, it’s a true test of endurance and mental fortitude.

Dan and Steve’s successful 32-mile run not only boosts their confidence but also sets a solid foundation for the challenges ahead. Their commitment exemplifies the spirit of Carn Runners, where perseverance and mutual support drive members to achieve remarkable goals.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dan on reaching this ultramarathon milestone and to Steve for his unwavering support. Best of luck to both as they continue their training journey towards the Classic Quarter!
