A bit of Cornish mizzle could not stop Carn Runners from enjoying another lush Saturday Social on 19 September.

Starting just outside Camborne, the group headed onto the old Coswinsawsin route for a morning combining country lanes, farm tracks and plenty of flexible mileage. With several breakaways along the way, runners were able to shape the session around the distance they wanted to cover.

Distances from six to 16 miles

There was an impressive range of distances completed across the morning. Members covered between six and 16 miles, with some runners extending their time on the route while others stayed with the main group.

The core group completed approximately six to seven miles together. The various breakaways meant everyone could enjoy the social side of the run while choosing a distance that suited their plans for the weekend.

Country lanes and farm tracks near Camborne

The old Coswinsawsin route provided a varied local outing, taking the group along quiet country lanes and onto farm tracks in the countryside beyond Camborne.

The damp conditions added a distinctly Cornish feel to the morning, but the mizzle did little to slow the group down. Whether completing six miles or stretching the run all the way to 16, everyone added another strong set of weekend miles.

Another successful Saturday Social

Social runs do not need a finish line or race clock to produce a rewarding morning. This outing offered good local running, a choice of distances and the opportunity to share some miles with fellow Carnies.

Well done to everyone who joined the group and completed their chosen distance. Another Saturday Social done in true Cornwall conditions. 💙💛
