The weekend got off to a great start for Carn Runners with another enjoyable Saturday Social run, this time beginning and ending at Bissoe. With a mix of distances on offer and plenty of smiles along the way, it was the perfect way to spend a morning out on the trails.

The social runs are always about more than just the miles, and this one was no exception. With runners choosing distances of 7 to 10 miles, it gave everyone the chance to settle into a comfortable pace, enjoy the scenery and have plenty of conversation along the route.

Miles at a Relaxed Social Pace

Saturday socials are all about running together, and the Bissoe route offered the perfect setting for that. The trails in this area are popular with runners and cyclists alike, offering a mix of gentle gradients, open sections and beautiful Cornish countryside views.

Groups naturally formed along the way, with runners chatting, catching up and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere that makes these runs so popular. There was no pressure on pace or performance — just a chance to enjoy being out running together.

Of course, some runners were feeling particularly energetic.

Extra Miles for Vicky

While most runners opted for the 7 to 10 mile options, Vicky decided to go the extra distance, putting in an impressive 18 miles for the morning.

That’s some serious mileage for a social run and shows the kind of dedication that many Carn runners bring to their training. Whether building endurance for upcoming races or simply enjoying the challenge of longer distances, it’s always inspiring to see runners pushing themselves.

A Very Colourful Crew

One thing that definitely stood out during the run was just how colourful the group looked out on the trails.

With bright running kit in every shade imaginable — reds, pinks, oranges, yellows, greens, blues and purples — the group made quite the sight as they moved along the route. It’s safe to say that anyone passing by would have spotted the Carn runners from a mile away.

The Best Part: Post-Run Treats

As always with Carn Runners social events, the run itself was only part of the fun.

Once everyone had finished their miles, the group gathered to enjoy some well-earned treats. Good food, relaxed chats and plenty of laughs rounded off what had already been a fantastic morning of running.

Moments like this are what make the club special — running together, supporting each other and taking time to enjoy the social side of the sport as well.

Social Running at Its Best

The Saturday social run from Bissoe was a great reminder of why these sessions are such an important part of the club calendar. They bring runners of all abilities together, offer flexible distances and provide a welcoming environment for everyone.

Whether it was 7 miles, 10 miles or an impressive 18, it was a brilliant morning of colourful, chatty and enjoyable running.
