On Sunday, 4th May 2025, Carn Runners’ Janet took on the formidable Saltash Half Marathon, an event renowned for its challenging terrain and hilly course. Organised by the Tamar Trotters, the race forms part of the Saltash May Fair weekend and starts and finishes at Longstone Park.
Janet described the experience as “hideous and much hillier than I remember.” An unexpected detour occurred when she was inadvertently directed along the 5K route, resulting in an extended distance of approximately 14 miles. Despite this setback and the fatigue from a demanding week of cycling, Janet persevered, even contemplating whether she would make the halfway cut-off.
Her determination and resilience exemplify the spirit of Carn Runners. Janet’s ability to overcome unforeseen challenges and complete the race is truly commendable. Well done, Janet!
