Carn Runners Shine at the Mob Match & Grand Prix Presentations

The final big team event of the year did not disappoint, as Carn Runners delivered a brilliant turnout at the Falmouth Mob Match — one of Cornwall’s most spirited and competitive team races. With clubs from across the county coming together in huge numbers, the atmosphere was electric and the competition fierce, but our Carnies rose to the challenge in true blue-and-yellow style.

A Fantastic Team Effort at the Mob Match

The Mob Match is all about one thing: strength in numbers. The more runners a club fields, the better your scoring chances — and Carn Runners certainly showed up. Across all paces, ages and experience levels, our members lined up ready to take on the undulating 5-mile Falmouth route, complete with coastal views, sharp little climbs, and plenty of cheers from spectators.

And what a result it was for our ladies’ team, who brought home a brilliant 2nd place in the medium-sized clubs division. Huge congratulations to:

  • Tori
  • Olivia
  • Briana
  • Vicky
  • Bex
  • Dawn
  • Cat (Chod)
  • Amy

Their combined efforts, pacing and teamwork secured a well-deserved podium finish and reflected the strength and depth of our women’s section this season.

Grand Prix Presentations – Celebrating a Strong Season

Following the race, the focus shifted to the end-of-year Grand Prix presentations, where Carn Runners were proudly represented once again. After a long season of racing across Cornwall, several members earned standout awards and age-group placings.

⭐ Age-Group Achievements

Carn Runners delivered fantastic results across the categories:

  • Tommy – 1st in age group
  • Glynn – 2nd in age group
  • Tori – 3rd in age group

Each of these achievements reflects consistent racing, strong performances throughout the season, and a dedication to training that truly paid off.

🎯 GP Series Qualifiers

To qualify for the Grand Prix leaderboard, runners must complete a minimum of eight races. This year, the following Carnies hit the target with determination and effort:

  • James
  • Tony C
  • Bex
  • Vicky
  • Janet

Completing eight races across a season filled with everything from 5Ks to half marathons is a brilliant achievement in itself.

🏅 Special Recognition

A special mention goes to Glynn, who not only placed 2nd in his age group but also completed all 14 races in the Grand Prix series. A huge commitment and a truly impressive achievement — well done!

A Day Filled with Pride

Between the strong Mob Match performance and the celebrations at the GP presentations, it was a day full of club pride, personal accomplishments, and team spirit. Events like these highlight what makes Carn Runners so special: runners supporting one another, celebrating both big and small victories, and turning every race into a memorable shared experience.

Well Done, Everyone!

A massive well done to everyone who ran, supported, cheered, qualified, or collected awards. Whether you raced hard for points or simply showed up for your clubmates, you contributed to a fantastic day for Carn Runners.

Here’s to a brilliant end to the racing year — and to even more success, smiles and strong miles ahead. 💛💙
