July was a month that truly captured everything Carn Runners is about: racing, friendship, determination, shared adventures and plenty of yellow and blue appearing across Cornwall and far beyond.
There were strong club turnouts at local races, age-category prizes, team success and several members taking on new distances and enormous personal challenges. Our runners travelled across the Tamar for more Devon adventures, represented the club at major endurance events and continued to support one another through every kind of result. The Magnificent 7 brought another collection of podium places, while an incredible 42 Carnies took part in the Summer Turkey Trot, alongside members who volunteered or cheered from the sidelines.
July also delivered some unforgettable long-distance achievements. Members took on events including Race to the Stones, the Hope Trail Festival and the formidable Lakeland 50 and 100. Some weekends ended with medals and first-time milestones, while others provided hard-earned experience for challenges still to come. Whatever the final result, the courage, training and commitment required to reach those start lines gave us plenty to be proud of.
Away from racing, our regular social runs continued to bring members together on woodland trails, coastal paths and familiar local routes. Whether it was an early Sunday start to avoid the heat, a small Friday evening group seeking shade or Carn colours appearing on holiday in France, there were plenty of reminders that some of the month’s best miles were simply those shared with friends.
Of course, the biggest moment of July was our Coral Relay celebration. To mark 35 years of Carn Runners, members carried the Carn flag around a 35-mile route divided into seven relay legs, travelling through Camborne, Redruth and the surrounding area before finishing together at the summit of Carn Brea. It was a remarkable day of running, conversation, laughter, memories and genuine love for the club—and one that will remain a special part of Carn Runners’ story for many years.
Below you’ll find all of our race reports, social updates, member achievements and club stories from another packed month.

A Month to Remember
July gave us so much to celebrate, from first-time achievements and podium finishes to major endurance challenges and one of the largest Carn turnouts we have enjoyed this year.
Every event told a different story. Some members crossed finish lines they had worked towards for months, others tested themselves against distances and terrain that few people would ever consider, and many simply enjoyed the pleasure of running alongside friends. Every one of those experiences contributed to another brilliant month for the club.
The Coral Relay provided the perfect centrepiece. Celebrating 35 years was not simply about looking back at where Carn Runners began; it was about recognising the welcoming, supportive and inclusive community that continues to grow today. Seeing past and present members sharing the route, passing the flag and gathering together on Carn Brea showed exactly why the club means so much to so many people.
Thank you to everyone who raced, volunteered, planned routes, led groups, provided lifts, took photographs, supported from the sidelines or encouraged another member during July. Club life relies on all of those contributions, and the enthusiasm shown throughout the month was wonderful to see.
July will be difficult to top—but knowing Carn Runners, August is unlikely to be quiet.
Here’s to more races, social miles, new challenges and shared adventures in the yellow and blue. 💙💛
