A lot can happen in a couple of months

From August to September, Carn Runners have had plenty to talk about. Club members have taken on races near and far, found time for social miles and shared achievements that deserve a moment in the spotlight. Back at home, club nights have kept bringing people together. Whether you have followed every update or missed a few while life got busy, this is a chance to catch up.

The stories below show different sides of club life. Some focus on a finish line or a personal milestone; others are about getting out for a run with good company, choosing a route or taking on a training session together. They are not all the same sort of running story, and that is the point. There is room here for ambitious race goals, relaxed outings and the ordinary weeks that connect one event to the next.

If a photograph catches your eye, follow its link to read the full post. You might recognise someone from a Wednesday night, spot an event you have been curious about or find an outing you had not heard about at all. Each post has its own details; this round-up brings them into one place so they are easier to revisit and share.

It is easy for a busy stretch of the calendar to blur into a list of dates and results. Looking back gives us a better view of the people and experiences behind those updates. Here is what Carn Runners have been up to over the last couple of months.

21 Carnies Take on the Marazion 10K

Twenty-one Carn Runners took on the Marazion 10K on Sunday 27 September 2026, giving the club plenty to celebrate across the individual and team results. Dawn and Donna Take On the Bristol-to-Bath Trail Marathon

A huge well done to Dawn and Donna, who took on the Bristol-to-Bath trail marathon on Saturday 26 September. It was a marathon-distance challenge with a difference: a point-to-point route linking the two cities through trails and countryside, rather than returning runners to where they started. It is always brilliant to see Carn Runners taking

Margaret, Zoe and Sandy Take on the Windsor 10K

Margaret, Zoe and Sandy took Carn Runners on the road for the Windsor Women’s 10K, heading to the race with a couple of friends and enjoying a great weekend together. Tony Completes His Third Marathon of 2026 at the Bumble Bee Challenge

Three marathons in one year is a milestone worth celebrating. Congratulations to Tony, who has completed his third marathon of 2026 at the Bumble Bee Challenge in Devon. It was also a return visit: Tony completed the same marathon last year, making this his second finish at the event. The 2026 Bumble Bee Challenge took

Carnie on Tour: 350 Miles from London to Amsterdam

There was a well-earned leisurely day in Amsterdam on Sunday 20 September after an impressive 350-mile cycle from London, travelling through France and Belgium before reaching Holland. It may have been a cycling trip rather than a running weekend, but covering that sort of distance still makes this a proper Carnie endurance adventure. After all

Huge congratulations go to Elena, who produced a fantastic personal-best performance at the Cheltenham Half Marathon on Sunday 20 September. Representing Carn Runners away from Cornwall, Elena crossed the finish line in a brilliant time of 1 hour 46 minutes. The Webbs Complete Their parkrun Alphabet Challenge

After a whole lot of early mornings, extensive journey planning, occasional wrong turns and more post-parkrun breakfasts than anyone was counting, the Webbs have done it: their parkrun Alphabet Challenge is complete. What began as an idea to collect parkruns beginning with different letters became a much bigger adventure. It took them around the UK

Running with Purpose: Carn Runners Continue Support for Transformation CPR

Here at Carn Runners, we are more than just a running club; we are part of a vibrant local community. Based right in the heart of Camborne, our members regularly lace up and pound the pavements, running through many of the very streets where our friends, neighbours, and families live and work. Because our roots

Road or Trail? How to Choose Your Next Cornwall Race

Cornwall offers two very different ways to enjoy a race: follow the tarmac through its towns and country lanes, or head off-road for coast paths, woodland, fields, sand and mud. Neither is automatically easier, harder or more suitable for experienced runners. The best choice depends on what you enjoy, how you like to measure progress

Laura Clocks Up 82 Miles at the Robin Hood 100

There are easier ways to spend 24 hours, but Laura has never been one to choose the simplest challenge. Returning for her fourth attempt at the Robin Hood 100, Laura covered an enormous 82 miles before her race came to an end. Although it resulted in a DNF rather than the medal she had hoped

Nine Carn Runners Take on the Truro Half Marathon

Nine Carn Runners lined up for the Truro Half Marathon on Sunday 13 September, giving the club another excellent turnout at a major Cornish road race. The Carnies made the most

Janet Earns Gold at the 104-Mile Land’s End 100

There may not have been a running race for Janet this weekend, but there was still a major endurance challenge on the schedule. A Hilly Start for Janet at the Haytor Heller

There was no gentle introduction for Janet at the Haytor Heller, as she took on one of Dartmoor’s tough off-road challenges on Saturday 5 September. Perfect weather provided a lovely backdrop for the evening race, but the conditions did not make the course itself any easier. With steep climbs, rugged moorland and plenty of undulation,

Gibraltar parkrun Ticks Off the ‘G’ – Just One Letter to Go!

The Webbs’ parkrun Alphabet Challenge is getting seriously close to completion! And this one was particularly important. A visit to the relatively new Gibraltar

It wasn’t all running for Carn Runners this weekend, as three of our swimmers and multi-sport athletes swapped their trainers for swimming caps and headed into the water at one of Cornwall’s most iconic locations. Carn Runners Shine at the Sticker 5

Carn Runners had a massive contingent out for the Sticker 5, and once again the results showed just how much strength, depth and team spirit there is across the club. Podium Success for Carn Runners at the St Ives Bay 10K

Another evening of racing brought another collection of brilliant results for Carn Runners, as Jan, Sally, Steve P and Tori took on the St Ives Bay 10K. This is certainly not your average 10K. The Carn colours were back on display over the Tamar as Wayne, Dennis, Janet and Peter travelled to Devon for the Totnes 10K. The 2026 event, held on Sunday 2 August, was the 44th running

On to the next run

That is quite a collection of stories for one stretch of the year. A race report may begin with a particular distance or result, but it can also introduce us to a new place and a different challenge. A social run might not have a finishing time to record, yet it is still worth remembering. Putting the posts together makes space for both, without asking every run to look alike.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of these recent club updates. Whether your contribution was a race-day effort, a training session, a few sociable miles or simply turning up to run alongside someone else, you have helped give this period its character. And if your own running has been quieter lately, there is no need to have an achievement to report before joining in again. The next club night is a fresh opportunity.

For members planning their next outing, our run schedule is the place to see what is coming up. If you have found us through one of the stories above and would like to run with Carn Runners yourself, our membership page explains how to get started. You do not have to be preparing for a race to come along.

For now, enjoy the catch-up. Take your time with the photographs, open the stories that interest you and celebrate the variety of running that has filled these past weeks. We look forward to seeing what the next couple of months bring.
